 Practical Tai Chi Chuan

A Complete System

Tai Chi Chuan is based on the  Ancient Chinese philosophical notion of Yin and Yang.

A complete system of Tai Chi Chuan contains a balance of Yin and Yang

Yin

This is  the widely known  passive, meditative, therepeutic aspect of Tai Chi  that can be found in hand froms and qigung.

The slow gentle movements of the hand form loosen and strengthen the muscles and relax the joints.Continuous practice stimulates the nervous system, improves circulation, respiration and digestion. The slow movements, slow down the breathing having a calming effect.

Regular practice of Tai Chi Chuan can bring both physical and psychological benefits.

Yang

Many people practising Tai Chi Chuan do not know this aspect of Tai Chi. Tai Chi Chuan is in fact a sophisticated and subtle form of self defence.

The yang aspects  are the combatitive, competitive elements found in aerobic exercises, push hands and self defence.

Learning Wudang Tai Chi Chuan

Wudang Tai Chi Chuan offers students a complete system of Tai Chi Chuan. Students  learn in small class groups or individually progressing  at their own pace, depending on their personal requirements and level of fitness.

Some students focus on the health benefits and improving fitness, to be gained from the forms, chi gung and nei gung.Other students focus on developing an understanding of the self defence applications and push hands techniques. The more dynamic students work at more vigorous exercises and train for  forms and push hands competition.
